In Germany the provisions of the Employee Invention Law (German: Arbeitnehmererfindergesetz, abbr. ArbEG) come into effect when an invention or a technical improvement is developed by an employee. This governs the proprietary rights of the employer as well as any potential obligation to compensate the employee.
